About the APS Benevolent Fund
The APS Benevolent Fund is a registered charity and an important platform for the APS community to give back in meaningful ways to those who are lss fortunate.
The fund is administered by the staff of the APS Benefits Group. All costs of maintaining the Fund are borne by the Group, to ensure that every dollar is used to fund benevolent projects.
The chosen charity for the APS Benevolent Fund is the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC). CPEC provide direct services to children suffering from Cerebral Palsy and similar conditions that result in movement challenges.
What is Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral palsy is one of the most common physical disabilities in Australia and the most expensive to manage.
The Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) provides physical, occupational and speech therapy to children, training to parents as well as enabling children and families to access the essential equipment they need in their daily lives. Equipment and resources are critical in the provision of support for the kids and families at CPEC. Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and parent training can be expensive.
Since 2019, the APS Benevolent Fund has donated $390,000 to CPEC, with every dollar helping children to live healthier and happier lives.
