An alarming number of Australians are worried about their financial future. This is primarily because they are lacking quality advice.

According to research conducted by Challenger and National Seniors Australia, 53% of Australians over the age of 50 are worried about outliving their savings. This study also revealed that 20% of Australians worry frequently about longevity. Similarly, the ABC – Australia Talks’ survey revealed that financial worry is the second greatest concern for Australians. The primary concern for Australians is climate change.
The good news is that quality advice also reduces retirement anxiety. This study found that 35% of respondents who receive financial advice do not worry about retirement. A further 15% previously worried about retirement but don’t have concerns anymore. This compares to 75% of respondents who were unable to access quality financial advice. Of those who couldn’t seek advice, 44% worry frequently about retirement.
