At APS Savings, we offer two types of savings accounts – term investments and Notice of Withdrawal (NOW) accounts. Both accounts are designed to help you maximise your savings, but it is important to know the differences so that you choose an account that suits your needs and requirements.
APS Savings offer fixed term investments over a 6, 12 or 24 term. The current interest rate for a 24-month term investment with APS is 4% p.a., four times what most major banks are offering.
A term investment is the perfect option for those who have funds that don’t need to be accessed over the next one to two years. When you open a term investment, you are effectively locking your money away for a chosen period and not accessing your funds until the end of the chosen term period, meanwhile accumulating interest. The benefit of a term investment is that your interest rate is locked in so if interest rates drop during the term, you will continue to build your savings with the higher interest rate.
A 4% p.a. interest rate will allow you to skyrocket your savings without worrying about a falling interest rate. In addition to this attractive rate, APS Savings pays the interest each month which you can use either as an income stream or added to your principle, earning even more interest.

The alternative option is our 31 Day Notice of Withdrawal (NOW) Account. This account has a current interest rate of 3.5% p.a. and is more suitable for those who need a savings investment account for those expected (and unexpected) expenses.
Rather than having a long-term investment strategy, opening a NOW account with APS Savings is an ideal way to save for the intention of withdrawing for expenses such as holidays, the Christmas period, car expenses or birthdays.
You can open more than one account, so you can even start a savings account for your children or grandchildren.
